THORRs
Amnat Charoen Province, Thailand, ranks among the bottom three provinces in the country in terms of average income. This is primarily because most of its people rely on traditional agriculture as their main livelihood. With limited job opportunities and income sources, many young adults leave for the cities in search of work—leaving mainly women and the elderly behind in the communities.
From this context, the brand THORRs was born—founded by a designer originally from Amnat Charoen, with the intention to develop culturally rooted design by building upon traditional weaving heritage. THORRs aims to elevate the standards of handcrafted production, create global awareness and marketing outreach, generate income, and preserve the art of weaving. At the same time, the brand seeks to empower the roles of women and the elderly within families through the sustainable development of both crafts and people.
THORRs is committed to sourcing production from local weavers in Amnat Charoen and neighboring provinces, and has now expanded to include communities across the ASEAN region.
Today, THORRs supports weavers and artisans across more than six provinces in Thailand—impacting hundreds of lives. The business generates steady income and employment, offering hope to artisans in local communities. It helps them care for their families, maintain their way of life, and preserve the value of cultural heritage—allowing it to live on in harmony with the evolving times and changing lifestyles.
